Utica Mock Trial

The Utica University Mock Trial Team is a student organization founded in 2018 that allows students to develop written communication, public speaking, argumentation, and teamwork skills by competing in simulated trials against other universities across the nation.  As a member school in the American Mock Trial Association, students assume roles as attorneys and witnesses, prepare a case theory, write opening and closing speeches, and executive hard hitting direct and cross examinations.  Each trial is judged by practicing attorneys and judges.  The activity is rigorous, requiring consistent practice and offering a competitive experience that mirrors real trials and can benefit students interested in legal, scientific, communications, acting, marketing, psychology and other careers.  The funds raised will be used for travel, lodging, and registration for competitions.  Other than team fundraising efforts, the team currently has no other source of income or funding to support their goals.  Without your support, we could not compete.
