American Sign Languaage Club at OCC

We are the American Sign Language (ASL) Club at Onondaga Community College. Our mission is to raise awareness of the Deaf community on campus, support and promote the ASL degree program, and bring together Deaf and hearing individuals through shared learning and cultural exchange. We provide a welcoming space for students to develop their ASL skills and deepen their understanding of Deaf culture. We are currently raising funds for a trip to Gallaudet University, the world’s first university for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students located in Washington DC. Gallaudet is a bilingual community where ASL and English thrive side by side, empowering Deaf and hard-of-hearing students to become leaders and advocates. This trip will offer our members the opportunity to experience Gallaudet University firsthand, immerse themselves in an ASL environment, and explore potential transfer opportunities within the ASL Interpreting major.

IMPORTANT! BE SURE TO NOTE "ASL at OCC" IN THE NOTE FIELD ALONG WITH THE NAME OF THE STUDENT/PERSON SO WE KNOW WHAT ORGANIZATION YOU ARE SUPPORTING.
